Basisbank is pleased to announce the launch of Google Pay, a simple and secure contactless payment tool, completely replacing mobile payments and making it easier and safer on both Android and WearOS devices.

Basisbank Visa and Mastercard cardholders can now store their debit and credit cards in Google Wallet, thereby making contactless payments anywhere cashless payments are accepted.

Using Google Pay is based on security and privacy. With security built-in to protect you before, during, and after every payment, using Google Pay is safer than swiping your card or paying with cash. When clients use a Basisbank Visa and Mastercard card stored in Google Wallet to pay with Google Pay, transactions are made using a virtual card number (a token). This token is associated with a dynamic security code that changes with each transaction, providing an extra layer of protection from fraud.

If a Google Pay user's mobile phone is lost or stolen, the device will be locked instantly from anywhere using the simple “Find My Device” feature. The user will be able to secure it with a new password or even completely wipe it clean of their personal information.

Setting up Google Pay is easy. To start using Google Pay with your Basisbank Visa and Mastercard card, download Google Wallet today from the Google Playstore.
